Münferit is a new and new kind of meyhane located in Galatasaray, and the man behind the counter is a close friend. When he asked me to name his new venture, his briefing couldn’t be more to the point. What he had in mind was a contemporary meyhane that would respect all the aspects of a traditional meyhane, but with a twist. It is the most common thing about a Turkish meyhane to bear the name of its owner. So, I decided to go with it. As a word Münferit features the name of the owner -Ferit- within itself, it is an old Turkish word and means individual or unique. Hello?
